A great trip

For seven days in early May 2015, five intrepid souls braved dens of iniquity, rustic splendor, menacing bison and snowballs, harrowing ladders, Asians, Austrians, Navajo, uncooperative steeds, and Sedona architecture.

Las Vegas

Poker machines; the Stratosphere; Pinball Hall of Fame; Aria hotel; Ethiopian/comic cabbies; Circus Circus; cocktails and nuts; Fremont Street downtown; a classic sign.

Zion National Park

Stony grandeur; quality time on the hacienda.

On the Road

A vicious snowball exchange; a questionably clad visit to see the bisons.

Antelope Canyon

A group of 15 composed of 24 individuals; an astonishly rude tourist; an Austrian daughter moritified and camera-shy; Fraser and Fiona make a new friend/host.

Monument Valley

Some down-reservation dickering; Steven Holiday shows us the monuments; humbling sights.

Giddy Up

After an early rise yet late start; Elvis tells it like it is; a bumpy trot and thrilling gallop across the valley floor, first-timers do great.

Grand Canyon

The canyon impresses.

Flagstaff, Sedona, and, really, a very small blemish

Route 66 signs; funky breakfast; red stone in Sedona; really, it's barely there.
