Home > Things > Edward Tufte Sculptures - January 26, 2003
Karen, Brenda and I traveled downtown to see Edward Tufte's new sculptures. The installation was odd: Mr. Tufte made it clear in the show notes that his large stainless steel pieces were designed for the outdoors to catch the light in ever-changing ways, that they were specifically buffed for that purpose. But the installation was indoors under wan light.

It was enjoyable anyway. There were large plates from his three books on display, as well as several plates from his book-in-progress, Beautiful Evidence. If you haven't read his books, I recommend them. All three examine the presentation of information and how it can be improved. They are beautiful, and beautifully made.
